AccessibilityWeb site accessibility statementThrough its Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI), the World Wide Web Consortium is promoting a greater degree of Web access for people with disabilities. To help support this effort, the Delaware Lottery Web site was constructed to comply with the accessibility guidelines developed through the WAI and the Web Presentation Guidelines for State of Delaware Agencies. This site has achieved level A Conformance Level compliance with the WAI's accessibility guidelines meaning that all priority one checkpoints were adhered to in its construction. In addition, we comply with as many priority two and priority three checkpoints as possible. The Delaware Lottery is making every effort to ensure that the information available on our Web site is accessible to all. If you use special adaptive equipment to access the Web and encounter problems when using our site, please let us know. E-mail us at webmaster.lottery@state.de.us, and we will do our best to provide the information to you in an alternate format. Please be as specific as possible when describing the information you seek. Your feedback also will help us to enhance our site accessibility. Retail accessibility programA University of Delaware study indicates that at least 125,000 of Delaware residents have some type of disability. The Delaware Lottery has always believed that everyone should have access to playing Lottery games. As a result, the Delaware Lottery has developed an accessibility program that meets its federally mandated requirements under the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act). Not only is it a matter of law, it's good business! Accessibility means that people with disabilities, including wheelchair users, can enter Lottery Retailer stores to purchase tickets. Inspections of all Retailer stores began in June 1998. Survey results are shared with the Retailers, and a determination is made as to whether the Retailer will have to remove any barriers. If the cost of barrier removal represents a hardship, or if a landlord refuses to participate, a temporary exemption may be granted. The ADA Compliance Program regulations booklet, available from the Delaware Lottery Office, provides more information. Any questions about the Lottery's ADA Compliance Program can be directed to Gary Moore at 610-869-9403. In Kent and Sussex counties, call 1-800-821-5516. |
