PLAYERS CAN WIN  A NASCAR® TRIP FOR TWO PLAYING FASTRACKS

DOVER, DE - Players can win a NASCAR® trip for two, playing FASTRACKS*-the new $5 Instant Game from the Delaware Lottery! Tickets for FASTRACKS go on sale at Delaware Lottery Retailers beginning, Monday, March 26.

FASTRACKS features a top merchandise prize of a four-day/three-night NASCAR® trip for two to any official NASCAR® race during the 2001 and 2002 race seasons.  Six trips will be awarded playing the game, and one will be awarded in a second-chance drawing.  To enter the second-chance drawing, players must send one nonwinning FASTRACKS ticket to the Lottery Office in Dover by August 31 at 4:30 p.m.

In addition to the NASCAR® Race Trip prize package, players have the chance to win one of four $10,000 top cash prizes; one of 370 NASCAR® Driver prize packages, which consist of an official uniform jacket, official t-shirt, official cap and limited-edition plaque; or eight other cash prizes!

"We are excited to be able to offer our players the first Instant Game to feature five popular  NASCAR® drivers:  Jeff Burton, Mark Martin, Matt Kenseth, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and the late Dale Earnhardt," said Wayne Lemons, Delaware State Lottery Director. "This game is just another way we try to provide variety and fun in our Instant Games."

To play FASTRACKS, players simply scratch off the play area to see if any of your numbers match either of the two Dover Downs winning numbers.  If the player gets a match, he or she wins the prize shown.  If the player uncovers a "checkered flag" symbol as your number, the player automatically wins the prize shown.  In the Bonus Area, if the player reveals the word "Driver," the Player wins a NASCAR® Driver prize package featuring one of the five NASCAR® drivers featured in the game.  If the player uncovers the word "Race" in the Bonus Area, the player wins a FASTRACKS game offers 171,489 prizes with a total value of $1,567,000.  Average odds of winning are 1 in 2.80, based on selling all 480,000 $5 tickets printed for this game.

The Delaware Lottery last Fall began negotiating the licensing rights to the NASCAR® drivers with Media Drop-In, Inc. of Hartford, Conn., and collaborated with Scientific Games International, its Instant Games vendor, and Dover Downs International Speedway to include the raceway's logo and images of the five NASCAR® drivers and their cars on the tickets.

The Lottery is currently working closely with Dover Downs to develop promotional activities around the Speedway's racing activities in the upcoming year.

Since the start of operations in 1975, the Delaware Lottery has contributed more than $969 million to the state's General Fund to help finance needed state services that benefit everyone in Delaware.  The Lottery offers a variety of games including POWERBALL®, the fastest-growing multimillion-dollar jackpot game, All Cash Lotto, Rolldown®, Play 3 and Play 4, and a variety of Instant Games.
