TWO-TIME LOTTO WINNER FROM SPRING CITY, PA. CLAIMS $545,000 PRIZE

DOVER, DE - Sixty-eight-year-old Raymond Emrich of Spring City, Pa. claimed the $545,000 LOTTO jackpot prize from the May 29 drawing yesterday afternoon (May 30) at the Delaware Lottery Office in Dover. This is the second LOTTO jackpot prize that Emrich has won. He also won the $183,000 LOTTO jackpot prize from the March 28, 1995 drawing.

Emrich, an estimator for Potts Welding, was awarded $397,850, which represents his $545,000 prize minus $147,150 for federal tax.

His winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased the day before the drawing (May 28) from Books & News on Chestnut Hill Road in Newark. "I purchased my winning ticket for my previous LOTTO jackpot prize at the same Retailer," Emrich said.

The winner found out he had won when his wife checked the winning numbers in the newspaper the day after the drawing. "Now that I've won my second LOTTO jackpot prize, I'm seriously considering retirement," Emrich said.

He told Lottery Officials he definitely plans to continue playing Delaware Lottery Games. "After all, you've got to play to win-especially to win twice," he said.

The LOTTO jackpot for Saturday, June 1, 2002 has a jackpot worth $250,000. LOTTO tickets cost $1 and are available at more than 400 Delaware Lottery Retailers throughout the state.
