TV GAME SHOW FEATURING DELAWARE LOTTERY PLAYERS DEBUTS OCTOBER 5
DOVER, DE -The nation-wide launch of
the new POWERBALL® Instant Millionaire TV game show is scheduled
for Saturday, October 5. Each show features a Delaware Lottery player
competing against contestants from 12 other lotteries across the
country for up to $1 million in cash prizes.
"This is a totally new kind of venture for the Delaware Lottery,"
according to Lottery Director Wayne Lemons. "We look forward
to seeing our players do well, and hope that all Delawareans will
enjoy the show."
Todd Newton of E! Entertainment Television and Whammy! hosts. The
show has an elimination format with games of chance such as "Gauntlet"
and "Brainiac" played in successive rounds. Only one of
the 13 contestants gets to try for the $1 million grand prize in
the final round. The show airs Saturdays on WBOC-TV at 12 noon and
WPVI-TV at 11:30 PM.
Delaware Lottery contestants are chosen from drawings of non-winning
POWERBALL Instant Millionaire TV Game Show Instant Game tickets
conducted throughout the year. One on-air and six at-home contestants
are chosen for each show. On-air contestants receive round-trip
airfare for two to Las Vegas, $750 spending cash, limousine transportation
to and from the airport, and a 3-night stay at the Venetian Resort
Hotel Casino, a world-class resort fashioned after Venice, Italy.
At-home contestants win $100 automatically and can win up to $10,000,
depending on the success of their on-air counterparts.
Since the start of operations in 1975, the Delaware Lottery has
contributed more than $1.4 billion to the state's General Fund to
help finance needed state services that benefit everyone in Delaware.
