BOOP OOP A DOOP! BETTY BOOP INSTANT GAME HITS STORES

DOVER, DE -- Tickets for BETTY BOOP™, the Delaware Lottery's newest $2 Instant Game, are now available at more than 400 Delaware Lottery Retailers. In addition to a top cash prize worth $5,000, BETTY BOOP Instant Game players can win a Betty Boop prize package in a second-chance drawing, plus entry in a Grand Prize drawing for a Betty Boop jukebox or leather jacket.
Brian Peters, Lottery Deputy Director of Marketing said, "Betty Boop is a cartoon icon instantly recognizable to millions of adults. We expect the new BETTY BOOP Instant Game will be one of our more popular offerings this year."

To highlight the game's launch, the Delaware Lottery has arranged for Betty Boop and her friends to meet and greet fans and players on Friday, April 11 on Market Street Mall in Wilmington and on Saturday, April 19 at the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk. Both events will take place from 12 pm to 2 pm. Dressed in her famous short red dress, heels and garter, Betty Boop will entertain the public by giving out free BETTY BOOP Instant Game tickets to those who answer Delaware Lottery and Betty Boop trivia questions.

A second-chance drawing will be held September 18 to award 54 prize packages valued at $400 featuring a variety of Betty Boop official licensed products: a limited edition framed serial color print, a piano music box, a motion wristwatch, a collector's pen and tin, a T-shirt and a beach towel. Second chance drawing winners will automatically be entered into a Grand Prize drawing, to be held this October, for a Betty Boop jukebox or one of four custom-made leather jackets. To enter the second chance drawing, players must complete the back of a non-winning BETTY BOOP Instant Game ticket and send it to the Lottery Office in Dover for receipt by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2003.

The new Instant Game features two top cash prizes worth $5,000 each, plus eight other cash prize levels from $2 to $500. Each $2 ticket offers players six chances to win. BETTY BOOP offers 65,581 prizes with a total value of $316,400. Average odds of winning a prize are 1 in 3.66, based on selling all 240,000 $2 tickets printed for this game.

Since the start of operations in 1975, the Delaware Lottery has contributed more than $1.4 billion to the state's General Fund to help finance needed state services that benefit everyone in Delaware. The Lottery offers a variety of games: POWERBALL®, LOTTO, PLAY 3, PLAY 4, and assorted Instant Games. More information is available at delottery.com.
