BRIAN WOOD OF HARTLY WINS $1,000 IN 2ND CHANCE DRAWING
DOVER, DE -- Brian Wood from Hartly,
DE, won $1,000 cash in a second-chance drawing that wrapped
up the Delaware Lottery's recent promotion at WT Smithers
in Dover. He was one of hundreds of patrons who received free
$1 GRAND HAND Instant Game tickets, photos with their friends
and Lottery premiums during the promotion. Non-winning tickets
were eligible for the second-chance drawing held by radio
partner 92.9 WDSD-FM on Monday, October 27.
"The events in Dover were a great success," said
Delaware Lottery Deputy Director Brian Peters. "We're
happy to offer people who are enjoying our local nightlife
a chance to experience the fun and excitement of Delaware
Lottery Games as well."
Wood, a 28-year old probation officer, was informed by a co-worker
who heard the drawing on the radio and called to tell him
he won. He says he didn't believe it until a second friend
called with the same news. An occasional Lottery player, he
plans to use his windfall to buy tools or car accessories.
The promotions, held in conjunction with 92.9 WDSD-FM, ran
on Friday evenings from 6 to 8 PM. Radio station staffers
gave away GRAND HAND Instant Game tickets and other Lottery
premiums to participants who provided correct answers to Lottery
trivia questions. GRAND HAND Instant Game tickets offer the
chance to win up to $1,000 instantly. Non-winning tickets
collected at the events were entered in the second chance
drawing for a $1,000 cash prize. Patrons also received free
framed digital photographs of themselves enjoying a night
out with their friends.
Since the start of operations in 1975, the Delaware Lottery
has contributed more than $1.6 billion to the state's General
Fund to help finance needed state services that benefit everyone
in Delaware. The Lottery offers a variety of games: POWERBALL,
LOTTO, PLAY 3, PLAY 4, and assorted Instant Games. More information
