DELAWARE LOTTERY WINNERS IN 2004---2.8 MILLION "REWARDS" AND COUNTING!

DOVER, DE -- With the number of winning lottery players for the year 2004 approaching three million, officials of the Delaware Lottery declared that this year was "very rewarding" for residents of the state.

Figures cited by the Delaware Lottery indicate that there were a total of 2,831,032 winning tickets sold to Lottery players in 2004 as of the end of October, and that the number of millionaire prize winners created since the Lottery's inception now stands at 54. That number includes the 33 new millionaires added with the $214.7 million POWERBALL® jackpot drawing on Saturday, October 9th. That single winning ticket was claimed by a group of employees who work for a printing company in Seaford, Delaware. Each of the ticket holders received over $2.6 million in cash after federal withholding taxes. That payout was the sixth largest POWERBALL® jackpot in the game's history.

"It's been a great year for players of the Delaware Lottery," said Brian Peters, deputy director of sales and marketing for the Lottery. "Aside from the huge POWERBALL® jackpot awarded this fall, our winners have received various cash prizes, trips to Las Vegas, premium merchandise prizes, NASCAR race tickets, and a pair of seats in the DuPont Monster Bridge at Dover International Speedway for race weekend. With a variety of on-line and instant games available, the Delaware Lottery offers players quite a few ways to win," Peters said.

New Year-- New Games

As the Delaware Lottery moves into the new year, it is offering players new and exciting Instant Game tickets. In October, the Lottery offered players a great gift idea, "Money, Money, Money." It's the state's first $20 Instant Game ticket with 25 ways to win on each ticket and a top prize of $50,000. The Lottery has positioned the ticket as a great gift and stocking stuffer because of the ticket's great odds and significant prize levels. The Delaware Lottery's newest Instant Game PAC-MAN® Cash may bring back a flood of memories for both baby boomers and Generation X'ers. The PAC-MAN Cash game will have its world premier launch in Delaware on December 6th. The ticket offers a $3,000 top cash prize and a "second-chance" feature to Delaware Lottery players. The built-in second-chance feature offers non-winning players a chance to win one of 64 PAC-MAN merchandise prize packages valued at $510 each. One grand prize winner will receive their own arcade machine featuring the PAC-MAN® classic game along with 80's favorites Ms. PAC-MAN® and GALAGA®.

Since the start of operations in 1975, the Delaware Lottery has contributed more than
$1.8 billion to the state's General Fund to help finance needed state services that benefit everyone in Delaware. The Lottery offers a variety of games: POWERBALL®, LOTTO, PLAY 3, PLAY 4, and assorted Instant Games.
