TWO OF THREE RECENT $100,000 DELAWARE
POWERBALL® PRIZES CLAIMED

DOVER, DE -- An 80-year old Wilmington man and a 62-year old resident of Mount Laurel, New Jersey, have claimed two of the three $100,000 POWERBALL® prizes awarded in Delaware within the last two weeks. According to Lottery officials, a third winning $100,000 ticket sold at the Shore Stop on Stein Highway in Seaford, Delaware for the November 20th drawing remains unclaimed to date.

The winning tickets matched all five white numbers except the red POWERBALL® number. The $100,000 prizes represent $75,000 to the winners after federal taxes.

The Wilmington resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, had his winning ticket for the November 27th drawing validated last week. The winning ticket was sold at the Pathmark store on Sunset Boulevard in New Castle. The long-time POWERBALL® player, a native of Trinidad, told Delaware Lottery officials that this was the first time he had won anything in the U.S., but had previously claimed a lottery prize in his Caribbean home country.

The winning ticket for the December 1st POWERBALL® drawing claimed by the New Jersey resident last week was sold at the Village Market on Ridge Road in Claymont. The anonymous first-time winner, a sales manager, told Lottery officials he is a regular player of LOTTO and POWERBALL® and had no special plans for his winnings. The Garden State resident said he alternates between selecting his own numbers and Quick Pick-his winning ticket had numbers selected at random by the computer.

Since the start of operations in 1975, the Delaware Lottery has contributed more than
$1.8 billion to the state's General Fund to help finance needed state services that benefit everyone in Delaware. The Lottery offers a variety of games: POWERBALL®, LOTTO, PLAY 3, PLAY 4, and assorted Instant Games.
