THIRD $100,000 POWERBALL® PRIZE
FOR MARCH 30, 2005 DRAWING CLAIMED

Dover, DE -- A 31-year old New Castle man has claimed the third $100,000 prize from the Wednesday, March 30, 2005 POWERBALL® drawing. The self-employed, married father of two had his winning ticket validated at the Delaware Lottery Office in Dover. The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, was awarded a check for $75,000 which represents his $100,000 prize minus federal taxes.

The most recent winner from New Castle purchased his ticket from Boxwood Books, News and Tobacco on Maryland Avenue in Wilmington. He told Lottery officials he plays occasionally when the jackpots are high, and that this was the first time he had won. He found out he was a winner by using the quick check machine at his local retailer.

Within the last two weeks, the other two $100,000 prizes for the March 30th drawing were claimed, one by a woman from Georgetown and the other by a 25-year-old woman from Dover.

"Three $100,000 POWERBALL® winners in the state of Delaware for one drawing is pretty special," said Brian Peters, Deputy Director of Sales and Marketing for the Delaware Lottery. "These three Delaware winners are a testament to the excitement of POWERBALL®. While the super-sized jackpots get a lot of attention, Delaware has had 217 $100,000 winners, who matched five of six white numbers, with the exception of the red POWERBALL® since the game started back in 1992."

Since the start of operations in 1975, the Delaware Lottery has contributed more than
$1.8 billion to the state's General Fund to help finance needed state services that benefit everyone in Delaware. The Lottery offers a variety of games: POWERBALL®, MULTI-WIN LOTTO, PLAY 3, PLAY 4, and assorted Instant Games.
