$50 Million POWERBALL® Jackpot Winning Ticket Sold in Delaware;
Delaware Lottery Reveals Winning Ticket Retailer

Dover, DE --The Delaware Lottery announced this morning that Cutrona’s Liquors,4623 N. Market Street in Wilmington, sold the sole $50 million annuity POWERBALL® jackpot winning ticket for last evening’s drawing (Oct 3). The cash value is $33.05 million. The Retailer will receive a $10,000 selling bonus.

The winner has not yet come forward to claim their prize. Per the Delaware Lottery’s anonymity rules, the winner has the choice to remain anonymous. The Lottery only publishes winner names with their consent.

This is the eighth Delaware POWERBALL jackpot winner and the fifth largest POWERBALL jackpot won in Delaware. The last time a winning POWERBALL ticket was sold in Delaware was in February 2009. Two individuals presented one of two jackpot winning tickets to claim half of the $174.4 million top prize.

The Delaware Lottery strongly encourages the holder of the winning POWERBALL ticket to immediately sign the back of the ticket, which prevents anyone else from claiming the prize. The Lottery also urges the winning ticket holder to speak with a licensed financial advisor or attorney and contact the Delaware Lottery as soon as possible to make arrangements for their claim.

"We are excited that the eighth jackpot winning POWERBALL ticket in Delaware Lottery history may be claimed in the near future," said Delaware Lottery Director, Vernon Kirk. "It is very important that the winner seek professional financial assistance before claiming this life--changing sum."

POWERBALL jackpots must be claimed at Lottery headquarters located in Dover at 1575 McKee Road, Suite 102. Winners are welcome any business day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and must present a photo I.D. and Social Security card.

POWERBALL winners have one year from the drawing date to claim their prize. He or she has 60 days following the date of ticket validation to decide between 29--year, 30--installment annuity, or the one--time cash "lump sum" amount.

Wednesday’s POWERBALL numbers were 17, 23, 36, 55 and 59, with a Powerball of 10. POWERBALL’S annuity jackpot will start over again, at $40 million, or $26.4 million cash, for Saturday’s drawing. POWERBALL tickets are sold in 42 states, the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands.
